Revisiting past memories

As i revisit this blog again, i am deeply saddened by the current conditions it is in. There has been absolutely no posts for months and the site is dusty and full with cobwebs. Basically, all the bloggers are playing hide and seek with each other where they will only blog if someone takes the initiative to blog in the first place. The only active part of the website is the chatbox where many of our uni friends have been asking for us to update the blog and also the place where the bloggers giving excuses why they dont want to blog. So, to prove to the other 3 jokers that i am hardworking enough to blog, i will create the first post of the year 2008.

Tonight was the first time this year we got around together and did our ritual....DOTA..As usual i was not good at it and kh got raped again by ivan...who says he stopped playing dota which is an outright lie since he still plays dota every night on blueserver. Oh...yeah..there was also Ivan Ng and Kah Leong who played with us tonight. Both of them are our seniors and are doing their honours programme. Usually, Ivan Ng will curse and swear during the game but tonight he was rather quiet...Maybe he is trying to turn over a new leaf. After DOTA, we just sat down to have a cup of tea.

It has been half a year since we parted our ways since Monash and so we decided to catch up with one another. Let's firstly start with kh as he was the most well-dressed person tonight. Kh has left his previous company to join Roche where he is now a marketing executive in the diagnostics department. He is trying to market some diagnostic kit which involves blood and bones but i still can't quite get the details of the what the kit actually does. He is doing fine but he still finds the allowance for his petrol too little since he travels quite a distance from puchong to damansara very often to meet up a BIG 'customer'..Lolz..Otherwise he is doing alright.

Colin on the other hand is working under Pfizer where he sells Viagra...Yes, the famous triangle shaped blue drug...He claims it is very powerful and said that it was high in demand as many old men actually buy it for their visit to Thailand. When asked about whether he has tried it or not, he said no...which i personally think it cannot be true..How can u say that viagra is powerful if u have not tried it yourself, Colin? Hmmm... Anyway, if you are in Klang and u are in a pharmacy shop, there may be a chance that if u see someone dressed up as a blue triangle shaped costume selling stuff in black plastic bags (for security reasons), then the person in the costume is none other than colin ong. So guys if u have any ahem problems, u might want to ask colin as he will give u discounted viagra (he keeps some for his own use)...Oh yeah..he said take no more than one tablet at a time unless u want to be in hospital for a week.

The person with the most interesting job is Ivan Tham. He is currently working as a management trainee at Public Bank where he is in charge of the loans department. That sounds boring isn't it? But no... he only works in the bank proper before lunch hour..After lunch, is where the magic begins. He will quickly drive down to menara public bank and then suddenly transforms into a dancer...not any type of dancer but a ballroom dancer...woooh...wahhh...U see, ivan was one of the lucky people who were chosen to perform for the birthday party of public bank's big boss. Who would have thought that ivan who we thought was shy could dance gracefully to the tune of the waltz, hand in hand with another female colleague. So, Ivan has the luckiest job among all of us where he not only gets a potential girlfriend, but is also paid fully for the month for working part time and dancing. Aren't we all envious.....

For myself, I still have one more sem to go before i finish my medic bioscience degree. This time i'm taking 3 units so it should be a bit more relaxing...or i hope its relaxing...I'm going to join the rest of the bloggers in the working world pretty soon.. On one hand i feel excited as i am going to work and to see what the world looks like out there but on the other hand when i am a bit anxious when i hear all of them complaining that their pay actually isn't much due to income tax, epf, socso, etc. There was an interesting conversation in the car where we talked about what type of investments we should delve in as we really want to be financially stable. It came to our conclusion that maybe mutual funds aren't too bad, where the risk involved would not be too great and the returns are still substantial. But still, we have to work hard and try to achieve our dreams while we're still young before we start having our families....Oh yeah..if u have any interesting investments u want to share, do let ivan tham know as he is the financial savvy guy among the four of us. This is because we all will blame ivan if we lost our capital...Lolzz....

OK..time to go..its getting very late....like 5.37am type of late...Hope to see the other bloggers contributing..(which i think would need a miracle) soon...Take care and God bless!!

Days Of Our Lives As Working Individuals

Finally, there is a spark of life in this blog again. I was starting to wonder if anybody at all will start blogging again. Since I am so free in these few days of my work, I decided to blog to you guys about my near 3 months experience in the harsh working society. Let me start off with my 1st and 2nd month in my 1st company ( I will not say the name of the company for safety purposes). The 1st company I worked in have really gave me a head start to hows life in the working world. It gave me a rough picture on what I will be facing for probably the next 2 years or more. Before going for the interview, I was freaking out on what questions will they ask what kind of criteria are they looking for. Just so many things coming across my mind before stepping into the office. Its like a scene in 300 ( Tonight, we dine in HELL! ) Do or die session. But the interviewed turned out to be okay and surprisingly the boss offered me the job immediately, I was shocked because most of my friends told me that they will at least interview for 2 times before accepting you. So without much thinking, I accepted the offer and WHAM, my working life begins.

I must say that it is tough for me to wake up so early every morning to go to work since I normally skip my lectures in the morning in Monash. Wait, not normally I think its every lectures that are in the morning I will skip LOL. Talking about Monash material. I was working as a technical rep they call it but actually I am a salesman, it does not make any difference. Well, the working enviroment is good and quite relaxing. The worst experience I had in the company was when I went and see a lecturer to promote my products. So while I was explaining to him, he suddenly asked me a prophetic word. It went like this, tell me Colin what is your background and naive as I am I thought that my bachelor of science (biotechnology) would be sufficient enough to impress him. So I uttered out to him I am a degree holder in biotech. He looked at me with NO FACIAL expression on his face and he said to me do you know that you are not qualified to sell to me? At that point of time, you can see dark clouds engulfing me then I gave him a blur look and I told him that my company gave me proper training before sending me here, I assured him that I was prepared before going in to see him. True enough, he tested me he asked me questions on the products. WALAO EH!!! that time you can practically see bullshitting at its best

Well life has to go on right? So my boss was very impressed with me on how I handled this kind of situation and promote me to be Sales Manager. Well, that is not true at all LOL! I am just crapping. That would be the 1st and 2nd month of my working experience in my 1st company. It was fun and exciting at the same time...... Wootz!?! I have just started work in my 2nd company for almost 2 weeks now, so I still do not have any stories to tell you guys but when something interesting happens, I will share it with you guys haha.

Working life is sort of like a routine everyday. I wake up at 7am, go out at 7.15am then reach my workplace at 8.05am. I go back at 5.30pm and reach home at 6pm. Rest for a while, makan my dinner and sleep around 12am. Weekdays are just like that, passing by day by day and when weekends come, I will normally stay at home and chill LOL. Boring life man, studying life would be much much better. You have the option of skipping lectures and waking up late everyday, amazing! But once I started working, I began to have plans for the future on what I want myself to be in the next 5 years to come at least. I have all these great plans for myself but heck knows whether I can achieve it or not lol but hopefully I can. Well Sam, enjoy your life in Monash while you can man enjoy to the maximum before joining us in the cruel working world outside. Kh, what can I say don't sleep during meeting anymore LOL. Oh ya I forgotten to mention that Kh was once my colleague before LOL. Ivan oh Ivan, do what you do best man. Till next time bloggers, dont know when will be the next time but certainly will be some day

Peon: Work,Work!!

Lol, since I am quite free right now, guess I should try to revive this blog a bit haha. Kh, think your plan to stuff yourself for that night failed since the plan was cancelled lolz. It’s alright, we should go out and eat more often (you treat of coz lolz). Alright, its already two week since our convo and some of us r working rite now, some r struggling with their assignment/research and some are still lepaking around. No matter which path each and everyone of us chose, hope that we could still keep in touch >.<

When I am struggling with my assignment during my time in Monash, I wanted to graduate ASAP and experience the working world. But seriously, working life really sux lolz. Imagine I woke up 6 45a.m every morning and reached home at around 8 p.m. Then, I rest and eat till 11p.m and the cycle continue. Weekdays life r boring indeed and this explain why I keep asking you guyz to go out on weekend lolz. If not, my life would be the same as if Im locked in a prison lolz.

As I started working, I feel that future planning had become more and more important. Firstly, I planned what I wanna do after I gain enough experience in the working world. Right now, I planned to further my studies but not in science .But as w know, what we plan might not be the same with what will happen in the future. We can only plan, and the future lies ahead. As I planned for my future, it suddenly come across my mind to learn Mandarin. Yeah I know my mandarin sux big time lolz. Planning to learn mandarin from scratch. If anyone of you knows any institution that offer mandarin classes for banana like me which can learn from scratch, please let me know haha. Alright, my free time on weekdays is really limited, so I guess that’s all for now. Finally got 2 blog entry after so long lolz..

Yawn

That is my sentiment each time i visit this blog.. dull and uninspiring. I can't seem to appreciate the beauty of blogging, especially when one is working... so lethargic, lifting my fingers; using up whatever energy left in me to 'click click' and 'klak klak' consumes too much of my remnant ATPs.

Okay that's crap lol. The 3 months hiatus shall now be broken by this entry.

Basically all of us have been working for about a month or two save for Sam who is still enjoying life in Monash. Haha don't be too sad dude just one more semester to go and you'll join the working fraternity soon!

This new phase of life has indeed opened up my small pair of typical-chinese-eyes. Just when you thought your attributes were adequate or the knowledge accumulated over the past 21 years were sufficient to give u a good start in this new phase of life, bang; you are hit real hard and come crashing down the ground, sprawling. And just when you thought what you have been pursuing with every single ounce of your soul all this time is finally showing something desirable, wham; again reality hits you hard. Then again, these are parts and parcel of life haha..

Anyway, I have set myself targets which must be achieved at all costs.

1) Do something about my job which is less than desirable.
2) Gain weight since I have been increasingly told that I look like a long lost brother of so many malnourished Somalian kids (no offence intended). I'm not sure how long this will take but I'm basically stuffing myself with all sorts of rubbish, edible ones that is haha. Nola I don't want to become like the incredible hulk or arnold schwarzenegger, just need some flesh to conceal my overexposed bones lol.
3) Build on my mental endurance and never give up on what i have been fighting for, i must concede stubbornness is a weakness of mine

To achieve target number 2, I would need more money for that purpose, henceforth the relation between 1 and 2 haha. Anyway to use food as a reason for target 1 would be silly. Target 1 would be more inclined to my personal ambition, to quote KarMei: 'wo you shang jing xin' lol.

On a lighter note, will probably be meeting up with the SDTC gang come this tuesday at Marche. A chance to stuff myself with bulkier rubbish lol. Hopefully I'll come out of Marche that night fleshier at the right parts instead of just my belly lol. Nah just being silly haha.

Finally........

YES.... finally our exams are over. (Wootz!) The torment and hardwork that we need to go through for the exams and not to mention the sleepless nights just to memorize the name of fushi tarazu, engrailed, hunchback (brokeback), kruppel just to name a few. After the exams, life suddenly became very slow pace where I just slumbered through and wasted my time on sleeping and going out with my friends. I was just merely staying at home and pondering what should I do next as I will be dropping my second degree in Monash, I would have to find something to do eventually right? Maybe I can go and bake a cheesecake like what KH did for his mother. How thoughtful of him, bless your lovely heart KH.

The peer pressure from the rest of the homies to find a job made me look at jobstreet and Star newspaper in an effort to find a job that pays well and gives less work LOL which is quite impossible. Ivan said he is finding for a job where he can work as a janitor. How ambitious, after all the 3 years that is the job that you want to have? Kinda weird but we will never understand what Ivan wants. Well for KH, he is busy finding job as well in some Unilever company if I am not mistaken and Samuel he is already packing his books and bags to return to school in late July, so enthusiastic of him.

Other than that, we have been playing DOTA quite often. Talking about DOTA, we got massacred and got killed until there is no tomorrow in one of our DOTA sessions in FTZ. Its FTZ asia net (Cyber Cafe) its not fushi tarazu gene. Sam was loved so much by one of the opponent that he was the one who always got killed and raped. Poor Sam but he stayed through the game even though wherever he goes, pudge will be there also LOL. One thing that disappointed me was Pirates of the Carribean 3: At world's end. Oh man, there was so much excitment when the movie was released but we arent able to watch it due to our final exams. So basically I was expecting greater action and greater story plot from the movie. It turned out to be a disaster, I couldnt really understand the story plot where a good guy suddenly becomes a bad guy then the other way round again. Ivan was sitting beside me asking 'EH just now he was bad right?'. Guess what, I looked at him and I told him, 'DUDE, I have no idea man'.

Then there were crabs, where on earth do the crabs come from? Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp wasnt on their peak performance man, there were just sailing through on whatever the director wants them to do. I would say that the 2nd episode of pirates was much much better where at least I could understand what is going on LOL. Well as for now, I guess that the rest of the homies are busy finding jobs and all. I think I must go and find a job or a course that suits me as well. Who knows next time, Ivan will be holding a big cigar and drive a big BMW because he is the founder of the new generation of toilets where you can do your business upside down or whatever position that you prefer.
