Days Of Our Lives As Working Individuals

Finally, there is a spark of life in this blog again. I was starting to wonder if anybody at all will start blogging again. Since I am so free in these few days of my work, I decided to blog to you guys about my near 3 months experience in the harsh working society. Let me start off with my 1st and 2nd month in my 1st company ( I will not say the name of the company for safety purposes). The 1st company I worked in have really gave me a head start to hows life in the working world. It gave me a rough picture on what I will be facing for probably the next 2 years or more. Before going for the interview, I was freaking out on what questions will they ask what kind of criteria are they looking for. Just so many things coming across my mind before stepping into the office. Its like a scene in 300 ( Tonight, we dine in HELL! ) Do or die session. But the interviewed turned out to be okay and surprisingly the boss offered me the job immediately, I was shocked because most of my friends told me that they will at least interview for 2 times before accepting you. So without much thinking, I accepted the offer and WHAM, my working life begins.

I must say that it is tough for me to wake up so early every morning to go to work since I normally skip my lectures in the morning in Monash. Wait, not normally I think its every lectures that are in the morning I will skip LOL. Talking about Monash material. I was working as a technical rep they call it but actually I am a salesman, it does not make any difference. Well, the working enviroment is good and quite relaxing. The worst experience I had in the company was when I went and see a lecturer to promote my products. So while I was explaining to him, he suddenly asked me a prophetic word. It went like this, tell me Colin what is your background and naive as I am I thought that my bachelor of science (biotechnology) would be sufficient enough to impress him. So I uttered out to him I am a degree holder in biotech. He looked at me with NO FACIAL expression on his face and he said to me do you know that you are not qualified to sell to me? At that point of time, you can see dark clouds engulfing me then I gave him a blur look and I told him that my company gave me proper training before sending me here, I assured him that I was prepared before going in to see him. True enough, he tested me he asked me questions on the products. WALAO EH!!! that time you can practically see bullshitting at its best

Well life has to go on right? So my boss was very impressed with me on how I handled this kind of situation and promote me to be Sales Manager. Well, that is not true at all LOL! I am just crapping. That would be the 1st and 2nd month of my working experience in my 1st company. It was fun and exciting at the same time...... Wootz!?! I have just started work in my 2nd company for almost 2 weeks now, so I still do not have any stories to tell you guys but when something interesting happens, I will share it with you guys haha.

Working life is sort of like a routine everyday. I wake up at 7am, go out at 7.15am then reach my workplace at 8.05am. I go back at 5.30pm and reach home at 6pm. Rest for a while, makan my dinner and sleep around 12am. Weekdays are just like that, passing by day by day and when weekends come, I will normally stay at home and chill LOL. Boring life man, studying life would be much much better. You have the option of skipping lectures and waking up late everyday, amazing! But once I started working, I began to have plans for the future on what I want myself to be in the next 5 years to come at least. I have all these great plans for myself but heck knows whether I can achieve it or not lol but hopefully I can. Well Sam, enjoy your life in Monash while you can man enjoy to the maximum before joining us in the cruel working world outside. Kh, what can I say don't sleep during meeting anymore LOL. Oh ya I forgotten to mention that Kh was once my colleague before LOL. Ivan oh Ivan, do what you do best man. Till next time bloggers, dont know when will be the next time but certainly will be some day

Peon: Work,Work!!

Lol, since I am quite free right now, guess I should try to revive this blog a bit haha. Kh, think your plan to stuff yourself for that night failed since the plan was cancelled lolz. It’s alright, we should go out and eat more often (you treat of coz lolz). Alright, its already two week since our convo and some of us r working rite now, some r struggling with their assignment/research and some are still lepaking around. No matter which path each and everyone of us chose, hope that we could still keep in touch >.<

When I am struggling with my assignment during my time in Monash, I wanted to graduate ASAP and experience the working world. But seriously, working life really sux lolz. Imagine I woke up 6 45a.m every morning and reached home at around 8 p.m. Then, I rest and eat till 11p.m and the cycle continue. Weekdays life r boring indeed and this explain why I keep asking you guyz to go out on weekend lolz. If not, my life would be the same as if Im locked in a prison lolz.

As I started working, I feel that future planning had become more and more important. Firstly, I planned what I wanna do after I gain enough experience in the working world. Right now, I planned to further my studies but not in science .But as w know, what we plan might not be the same with what will happen in the future. We can only plan, and the future lies ahead. As I planned for my future, it suddenly come across my mind to learn Mandarin. Yeah I know my mandarin sux big time lolz. Planning to learn mandarin from scratch. If anyone of you knows any institution that offer mandarin classes for banana like me which can learn from scratch, please let me know haha. Alright, my free time on weekdays is really limited, so I guess that’s all for now. Finally got 2 blog entry after so long lolz..

Yawn

That is my sentiment each time i visit this blog.. dull and uninspiring. I can't seem to appreciate the beauty of blogging, especially when one is working... so lethargic, lifting my fingers; using up whatever energy left in me to 'click click' and 'klak klak' consumes too much of my remnant ATPs.

Okay that's crap lol. The 3 months hiatus shall now be broken by this entry.

Basically all of us have been working for about a month or two save for Sam who is still enjoying life in Monash. Haha don't be too sad dude just one more semester to go and you'll join the working fraternity soon!

This new phase of life has indeed opened up my small pair of typical-chinese-eyes. Just when you thought your attributes were adequate or the knowledge accumulated over the past 21 years were sufficient to give u a good start in this new phase of life, bang; you are hit real hard and come crashing down the ground, sprawling. And just when you thought what you have been pursuing with every single ounce of your soul all this time is finally showing something desirable, wham; again reality hits you hard. Then again, these are parts and parcel of life haha..

Anyway, I have set myself targets which must be achieved at all costs.

1) Do something about my job which is less than desirable.
2) Gain weight since I have been increasingly told that I look like a long lost brother of so many malnourished Somalian kids (no offence intended). I'm not sure how long this will take but I'm basically stuffing myself with all sorts of rubbish, edible ones that is haha. Nola I don't want to become like the incredible hulk or arnold schwarzenegger, just need some flesh to conceal my overexposed bones lol.
3) Build on my mental endurance and never give up on what i have been fighting for, i must concede stubbornness is a weakness of mine

To achieve target number 2, I would need more money for that purpose, henceforth the relation between 1 and 2 haha. Anyway to use food as a reason for target 1 would be silly. Target 1 would be more inclined to my personal ambition, to quote KarMei: 'wo you shang jing xin' lol.

On a lighter note, will probably be meeting up with the SDTC gang come this tuesday at Marche. A chance to stuff myself with bulkier rubbish lol. Hopefully I'll come out of Marche that night fleshier at the right parts instead of just my belly lol. Nah just being silly haha.

Finally........

YES.... finally our exams are over. (Wootz!) The torment and hardwork that we need to go through for the exams and not to mention the sleepless nights just to memorize the name of fushi tarazu, engrailed, hunchback (brokeback), kruppel just to name a few. After the exams, life suddenly became very slow pace where I just slumbered through and wasted my time on sleeping and going out with my friends. I was just merely staying at home and pondering what should I do next as I will be dropping my second degree in Monash, I would have to find something to do eventually right? Maybe I can go and bake a cheesecake like what KH did for his mother. How thoughtful of him, bless your lovely heart KH.

The peer pressure from the rest of the homies to find a job made me look at jobstreet and Star newspaper in an effort to find a job that pays well and gives less work LOL which is quite impossible. Ivan said he is finding for a job where he can work as a janitor. How ambitious, after all the 3 years that is the job that you want to have? Kinda weird but we will never understand what Ivan wants. Well for KH, he is busy finding job as well in some Unilever company if I am not mistaken and Samuel he is already packing his books and bags to return to school in late July, so enthusiastic of him.

Other than that, we have been playing DOTA quite often. Talking about DOTA, we got massacred and got killed until there is no tomorrow in one of our DOTA sessions in FTZ. Its FTZ asia net (Cyber Cafe) its not fushi tarazu gene. Sam was loved so much by one of the opponent that he was the one who always got killed and raped. Poor Sam but he stayed through the game even though wherever he goes, pudge will be there also LOL. One thing that disappointed me was Pirates of the Carribean 3: At world's end. Oh man, there was so much excitment when the movie was released but we arent able to watch it due to our final exams. So basically I was expecting greater action and greater story plot from the movie. It turned out to be a disaster, I couldnt really understand the story plot where a good guy suddenly becomes a bad guy then the other way round again. Ivan was sitting beside me asking 'EH just now he was bad right?'. Guess what, I looked at him and I told him, 'DUDE, I have no idea man'.

Then there were crabs, where on earth do the crabs come from? Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp wasnt on their peak performance man, there were just sailing through on whatever the director wants them to do. I would say that the 2nd episode of pirates was much much better where at least I could understand what is going on LOL. Well as for now, I guess that the rest of the homies are busy finding jobs and all. I think I must go and find a job or a course that suits me as well. Who knows next time, Ivan will be holding a big cigar and drive a big BMW because he is the founder of the new generation of toilets where you can do your business upside down or whatever position that you prefer.

Reflections

This would be my last post prior to the exam and i'm reflecting on what i have done for the past 3 years of my life as an undergraduate. For an easy read i had better separate it into 3 parts; first, second and third year, that is.

Life as a first year undergrad was pretty monotonous, that's boring in other words. I think i occupied most of my time with reports and studies, literally. I still can't fathom what has gotten into me at that time; imagine the non-living entity (books) became my best friend and i had no qualms about that lol..if that were to be the case now, i figure life would be pretty meaningless. Having said that, i must stress my diligence shouldn't be likened to that of a nerd's; their level of assiduousness is in a realm beyond my imagination and reach. I did occassionally go out with pre-U friends since i didn't really bother to make new acquaintances in uni. I guess the friends i really knew well back then were only Sam and Ivan and somehow i had the mentality that i wouldn't quite fit into the community of uni friends...lol kinda pathetic. So i figure i seeked solace in ..u guessed it..books. DAMN lol

Came second year, all of my pre-U friends went overseas for their further studies..suddenly life became rather quiet; no one left to accompany me to a game of pool or snooker. In all, i guessed i missed their presence but still i had to move on. Things weren't that bad that year since i started mingling with uni mates but it wasn't easy initially; whenever there's a group chat going on, most of the time i'd end up a spectator, and when i laughed it was for the sake of laughing, not because you guys were funny! lol Still, their companionship did ease my transition into uni life and i couldn't have asked for more, could i? Speaking about uni workload, things got worse; i reckon 2nd year is the busiest year in any Biotech student's life..the workload just kept accumulating from time to time..no thanks to long hours of facing the monitor. Imagine having around 4 hours of sleep almost every day. That's mental torture fer ya. It's a wonder how i emerged unscathed from that hellish experience lol

Third year, my swansong year in uni, had lots of things in store for me. Suddenly i had a band of brothers in ah-Sam, Ivy and Coli. Don't ask how that happened, i don't know, probably due to our times spent together annihilating AIs in DOTA. See, DOTA ain't that bad after all, it makes people of various horizontal and vertical proportions come together lol. Also, 3rd year was relatively less stressful than 2nd year in terms of workload, whew. Still life is like a cycle of mixed emotions, one moment you gain contentment, next you are dissatisfied; one moment you thought you are happy, the next thing you know heartbreaking moments await you. Anyway, the highlight of this year would probably be my industrial training stint; met with lots of fellow trainees from various places and it was a refreshing experience. Got to know how it feels like to be in the working community. Enjoyed every single moment there and most importantly, I discovered something which had been missing in my life for far too long, something i'd move heaven and earth for... nah its not related to religion, i'm not qualified to talk about it lol.

Having said all that, i think its time i went back to work, one more assignment left and finals are approaching real soon...damn this has unwittingly become the biggest event at this part of my life . There are lots of things i want to do after graduation but i shall leave that to next time....lol

A rushed post

Three weeks long of hiatus and still counting; any newer post after this is inconceivable due to the amount of work we have thanks to our uni. Heck, truth is we are just plain lazy to even bother to make a post, let alone sustain it on a regular basis. I’m in the uni’s computer lab rushing my report since I practically cannot do much of work at home thanks to disrupted broadband connectivity; keep up the excellent work TM for you are the nation’s pride just like Potong (Proton). For the past few days I have been hopping from one friend’s house to another friend’s to access to the internet; makes me wonder how long I need to remain as a vagrant.

Anyway, we met up with workplace colleagues from UCSI and UTAR last week and they haven’t changed much; Li Ern with her permed hair, Muthu with his one-thousand-words-per-second chatter outlet (lol, I mean it in a good way), Alicia, still maintaining the same weight, I believe, (coincidentally identical to mine) and Tian Tian with her ‘sweet’ personality as usual. Yuan Ni was coughing though; Yik Lim, the perennial busy bee, must have neglected her lol.

Come to think about it, most of our colleagues are either having their holidays or just resumed with their new semester so they shouldn’t be as busy as us. Darn, now I’m asking myself why am I spending my milli-seconds making this post; time and tide waits for no man.
Till next time.

Time Really Flies Like Superman

What can I say, our last semester as a biotech student is coming to an end coz EXAM timetable for this sem is OUT! What will happen to us next time I often asked, what will happen to Sam, Kh, Ivan and me? Probably, in the next 2 years Ivan will send an invitation card for us to attend his wedding. I do not know but I am curious. Maybe Sam will become an actor in Malaysia where he acts as a Loan Shark, maybe Kh will work in a bakery next time baking cheese cakes. Who knows what will happen to us? But look at the bright side, no more lab reports and assignments to do anymore, YES! just the thought of it makes me float in the air coz you guys might not know the trouble we go through to complete the lab reports or assignments. I remember vividly the past few days where I need to hand up my sci2010 assignment, it was only a 3 paged assignment but we need to read over 10 journals and half of it I couldnt understand a single thing that the journal is trying to tell me. It is as if that the journals have some reflective powers that whenever I read it, it just got reflected back CRAP! that was mental torturing and not to mention the genetics essay that we just handed up today.

Speaking of the genetics essay, today me and ivan went to school at around 12pm and we sat in the com lab altering and improving our essays and we decided to hand it up at 2pm. To make things worse, our final exam timetable is OUT! Wootz, so excited, wah can score high, wah can excel this time (Only Applicable to Kok Leong and Leang Chong here). For the four of us, this is the time where we panic and go blur. That time it was bioactive lecture, the four of us will normally sit at the back of the class except for kh that day he came in late I think (too busy baking cheese cakes). So when felix came in and sat with us, he started screaming 'EH EH EH EH, EXAM TIMETABLE IS OUT ADY' with his distinctive high pitch sound. So as usual, Sam got panicked first, Ivan will be there putting his hands together to pray that God will save him one day. As for me, I was in there mummering crap crap zia lat liao, sei cho ady this time, tua ki ady this time, mampus ady this time. How encouraging right the 3 of us, so Sam started asking Felix with his eyes wide opened hoping that Felix will tell him the good news of the timetable. Unfortunately, it was short lived Felix said this sem's exam will be very near to each other. Then suddenly Mira uttered a prophetic word from 2 rows in front, she said 'U know what, bioactive and sci2010 are on the same day' talking bout adding salt to the wound. At that point of time, you could basically see sam's face turning pale as for me as usual la RED. As for Ivan, he is still in denial that this wouldnt be true.

The horror of having 2 papers on the same day is equivalent to like having a pregnant dog chasing behind you. Besides that, Sam's body is too weak to take this kind of pressure and I am concerned about him that he will purge during exam because of insufficient meals in between. Imagine those people sitting behind him LOL. The three of us were there complaining and mummering bout our misfortunes but for Felix, he just shouted DOTA DOTA DOTA, we play DOTA 1st, worry later. Sometimes, I just want to pay my utmost respect to Felix for being such an encouraging friend.

But it turned out to be ok after all, we only had papers on the 15,18,19 and 21. But if we were to compare to last semester this semester's exam timetable will be far terrible than last sem. We will have to finish all the papers in one week's time, haihz basically means studying early. But when I want to start studying early, we will normally end up in Blueserver not sharing our knowledge on genetics, bioactive or other subjects but rather on how we should kill steal. U might wonder why do we always play dota and nothing else, but let me tell u the truth, all of us do not have a clue to that also haha. But i believe in striking a balance in life, doing everything in proportionate and not to indulge in one thing only. That is my principle of life.

Hopefully, once we graduated we can still mingle around and spend time together. If not, at least we meet in blueserver playing dota haha. One and a half month before the finals friends, let us get ready for it and let us celebrate as a biotech graduate who earns RM1500, can i hear a loud YES? Crap i only heard cricket sound.

SIEN OH SIEN.........

Its 3.00 am now...i cant sleep d...and i am doing my genetics essay.....i am seriously drained now..I'm seriously fed up with the amount of work i have to do....Last week i have to do two assignments...lab managemnt and application of science...Then this weeks is this dumb essay...SIEN OH!!!!!!! Anyway on a lighter note, before we hand up the SCI2010 assignment...we are supposed to pass it up thru a programme called turnitit (www.turnitin.com) to detect whether we plagiarized any journal articles we used for the asgnment. I got 20%, colin got 17%,felix got 26%...but after minusing the references....all of us got less than 10%....all except KIAN TAT....BTW...a lil intro...Kian tat is kian huei's older brother....although i still can't see the resemblance...lolz...And he always seats in front during lecture...if u thought kok leong is the only one who seats in front, u r horribly mistaken...This guy...man..he OWNS the front bench...more 'terror' than kok leong...sorry kok leong...and the other place he goes in uni is the library.....wow....this guy...totally puts his brother to shame....Yeah..u heard that kh...u are a disgrace...haha

Anyway.....kian tat passed up his assgnment thru turnitin and guess how much he got for plagiarism? it was 84%!!!!!!!! I didn't know it until kh told me on msn...Me, colin, ivan and felix were laughing like mad when i told them about the 84%....WHOA.. dude.....even if u cut off the references u won't go lower than 70%....Kian tat...if u are reading this post....u deserve my utmost respect for your courage in copying the journals word for word. R-E-S-P-E-C-T.. Anyway....kian tat told me in the end...the plagiarism was 2%...Now, i seriously dont' know who to believe coz from 84% suddenly jump to 2%...lolz...Maybe u can ask both of them when u see them..

Now comes the sad, morbid part.....(funeral anthem please)...Our mid term exam lasts for only a week....ONE FREAKING WEEK!!!! My goodness.....when felix told me the news during bioactive chem lec...i almost blacked out...Colin started mumbling senselessly like some monk...Ivan was holding his hands in deep prayer like some voodoo fella.... I thought he was joking...until Mira said something more disturbing....that bioactive chem and application of science falls on the SAME day!!! OMG!!!! That time....it was like one scene in armageddon...can literally see the world collapsing over us....All of us were really panicking...and then when class ended...we ran straight to com lab to check the timetable....it turned out that they were not on the same day...phew...(Mira...dont' scare us again man...can die one u know) but was next to each other ...nutzz...So the exam for me starts on 15 (genetics), 18 (application of science), 19 (bioactive chem) and 21 (lab mgment).....Man....this is the first time in uni i would have to seat for the finals for only a week... i know that the business students all finish it in a week...but they dont' have to go thru tons and tons of lecture notes with whatever promoter, transcription factor, nucleophilic substitution to digest....sigh....

Oklah...back to work d....need to continue with my genetics essay.....at least i let some steam off here....hopefully i won't drop dead tomorrow....Anyway...gambate to all my frens who are taking the same papers with me....No choice but to study ASAP.....sienzzzzzzz

Story Telling

Ok, as day passes I found that all the bloggers are getting lazier and lazier to blog. Needless to say, I knew that all of them would just log in to this website to find any new post, leave some comment and it ends there, full stop. I can’t complain much since that’s what I did. Just when I feel like giving up in this blogging thing to ,kh came upon me and remind me about this blog thing and I finally made up my decision to blog as I see it as a way to distress since I juz took my mid sem Marketing paper and is suffering from post exam syndrome now. See guyz? I still blog when our essay is due on Friday dun say as if I study and do my assignment whenever I am at home lol. When I told kh that I am gonna write something, he predicted that I would write about my exam but I am not gonna do that haha.

Just as I started to build the tempo to blog, I suddenly run out of idea on what to blog. Ok since this blog is getting more n more dead I decided to write about something even its bullshit haha. On last Friday, me.kh and sam went to the PC fair to get some of the computer stuff where at the end of the day, I bought a modem router (using kh modem to on9 now haha) and a 2gb pen drive. On the following day, I connect the router and tried to configure the modem but it does not work well. Then, I reconnect everything to the old modem hoping to restore my connection. To my dismay, I cant even online with my old modem where the local area connection shows ‘limited connectivity’. After trying and trying for few hours, I finally came up with the conclusion that my LAN card was faulty. Then on Tuesday, me, kh , sam and colin went to pyramid since the red faced guy wanted to get a 2gb pen drive initially. There, we survey for the prices for external hard disk and pen drive and we actually found that the price in PC fair and the price offered by the seller in Pyramid does not differ much. Yeah, remember to add up the petrol, parking, and time as the cost too if you were to go to KLCC for the PC fair. Ok after buying a LAN card from pyramid, I decided to replace my LAN card with the newly bough one today. As I plugged the new card in, I was able to online using the old modem.

Curious if the new card will work with my new router modem, I reconnect everything to the new modem but to my dismay I am not able to on9 again. Then, I replugged it back to my old modem and found that I fail to get a connection. There are saying that ‘curiosity kills a cat’ and now I understand it clearly. After some magic trick, I finally able to online using the old modem. Heck, I told myself that I am not gonna touch anything on my internet connection till the end of this semester. As I wrote all the crap till here, I can feel that the post exam syndrome is started to disappear and hence I shall stop my crap now. So before I end this blog, I shall say this “NEVER EVER PLAY WITH UR CONNECTION WHEN THERE IS ASSIGNMENT/REPORT TO BE HANDED IN”. Okay since I am so kind to tell you guyz a story together with the moral of the story, I expect you guyz to give me something in return such as treating me for lunch. Ok till then.

The Chronicles of a Cheesecake Baker Wannabe: Male by Birth, Baker by Choice

Since the title of this post is self-explanatory, I shall proceed with the events which occurred in the build up to the day on which the cheesecake was born.

7th of March
Life was pretty monotonous and uninspiring, no thanks to the reports and assignments our uni bestowed us with. So I came up with what initially was an out-of-this-world idea (to me at least); making a cake. No, not just any Tom-and-Dick nor Betty-and-Mary cake, it’s a cheesecake. Just hearing this word alone is sufficient to tantalize your emotions to that of orgasmic proportion, let alone sinking your teeth onto it, never wanting to let go, and exploring its undisturbed chastity with every single taste bud on your tongue. I’m not being explicit here; it’s just that cheesecake invokes superlatives. Of course, do have a glass of water beside you to ease its movement down your throat amidst that euphoric indulgence. I think I got carried away crap…

11th of April
After weeks of dilly-dallying, it was time I went seeking for the ingredients; eggs, butter, vanilla, sour cream so on and so forth. Why the procrastination? It was because I spent most of my time asking friends (who know and have tried baking, of course) where I could get the ingredients since I hardly do grocery. Also, I spent quite some time battering them with questions regarding the finer details of the recipe and instructions sourced from websites. Shoor Bing (an A-Levels friend) suggested that 1 cup in the recipe basically referred to 180mL while Yea Lee (friends since 13) insisted that it was 250mL. So much for trying to erase my confusion about the recipe haha. Anyway it is anyone’s guess as to whose measurement I followed in the end LOL. But I must thank both of you for been such a great sport, tolerating my non existent culinary knowhow. After much thinking, I came to a conclusion that when the Ang Mohs mention sugar, they are referring to castor or granulated sugar, only powder sugar refers to icing sugar. To think I actually contemplated using icing sugar to make the batter LOL, luckily I read the recipe carefully. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

With much confidence now, I headed to Tesco Puchong to get the materials specified in the recipe. Not all the stuffs were easily available such as Graham cracker crumb and sour cream. For the former, I substituted it with shortbread and digestives. Speaking about the latter, I asked one of the store attendants for its whereabouts but ended up with something else.
Me: Tumpang tanya di sini ada ‘sour cream’ ar?
Lady: Oh itu, ada ada, awak jalan ke lorong itu, finger pointing at a particular direction
Me: Oh okay thanks
So I headed to that particular lane but there was only one type of cream available on the shelves; shower cream. She must have misheard sour cream as shower cream. Should have just said krim masam instead. Asked other staff, some said it was available but some said no. So I decided to hunt for it myself, pretty much like a blind man navigating his directions without his walking stick. After almost an hour walking through a labyrinth of shelves to no avail, I decided to hit the road home. Now all I needed was just that sour cream.

At night, as I ironed out the finer details of baking by enquiring around, I realized I still haven’t comprehended the meaning of the word ‘cup’, so often used in the baking fraternity. What kind of cup? 180mL cup? 250mL cup? World cup? Or my Ikea mug? Luckily help arrived in the form of Yuan Ni (my training workplace colleague) who cleared my doubts regarding ‘cup’. Thanks a lot dudette. And also, you were right, Yea Lee…you know what I mean LOL. By then, it was 3.00a.m. already, felt like I just completed a lab report, time I hit the bed.

12th of April
The time was 830a.m., was still groggy but guessed the enthusiasm due to the novelty of this day kept me awake. Yes, it’s baking day! Took quite some time to gather the stuff I bought the previous day which were strewn all over the kitchen. All I needed was still the shower cream, erm, sour cream. Having no sour cream would have defeated the purpose of this day, wouldn’t it? So I set off my journey to Ivan’s place since he agreed to accompany me to Chloe’s (another coursemate of mine) house in Cheras. Thankfully this dudette agreed to let me use her kitchen since mine was ill-equipped. 15 minutes into the journey and I was still stuck at the road outside my housing area -_- only god knew what caused this massive traffic at 930a.m. It was close to 11 something by the time I picked Ivan. Off we went in search for the holy-grail-with-sour-cream in it and our first stop was King’s Confectionery in Sri Petaling. Asked the staff if they could sell me sour cream and the answer was a blank stare from them; that was so embarrassing and at that very moment I wished the earth would open up and swallow me LOL. Next stop, The Store and it turned out they ran out of supply. Darn, this cream was proving to be elusive indeed. Third stop: Carrefour and luckily there were 3 tubes left in the cold storage!

Reached Chloe’s house at 12 something and our arrival was greeted by 2 over-hyperactive dogs. One looked like Furby and another resembled a miniature imperial guardian lion from China. Good thing they didn’t bite or chew my foot, phew; I have a mild dog-phobia. Finally we started preparing the crumbs and the batter for the first trial cake. Ivan, who brought his marketing textbook to prepare for his test next week, helped a bit but mostly ‘supervised’ us LOL. Due to my non-existent dexterity in making cakes, Chloe’s presence did a world of good to the cake haha.

The compressed shortbread and digestives crumbs for the base of the cake

Pouring the batter onto the crumbs

One thing I must admit is I was put off by the preparation process; the amount of sugar and butter needed…can last a malnourished guy like me for almost 2 weeks, LOL. The first cake was disastrous; we removed it from the springform pan while it was still piping hot and the result was this:

But it tasted fine, success! So we adhered to the recipe and proceeded with the second cake. This time, learnt our lesson and the second cake was stored in the refrigerator overnight after cooling down. Came to collect it the next day and it turned out fine. Happiness and euphoria summed up my feeling just by the sight of it.

Once again, many thanks to everyone who made this seemingly wacky and cheesy dream of mine materialize. Now I dare say impossible is nothing; making cheesecake, I mean...

Say Cheessseeee!

A Pointless Post

Few days ago, Ivan mentioned that this blog looked dull; basically everybody is waiting for each other to make a post..yeah we are all lazy bones, uninitiated and simply put, we just don't care. Therefore, at this moment, i've decided to share with you a highly interesting day i have had in uni. As i gathered my thoughts into coherent sentences; this task simply became a herculean feat. A combination of flu, sore throat and cough has rendered me a sick man and my whole body feels like tofu as of now. Therefore, i'm left with no choice but to end what could otherwise have been a highly interesting post.

Look
, i tried......

Am looking forward to next week and will embark on something i've never done before all my life. I shall reveal more when i think i'm successful; heck, failure ain't an option LOL

This is Sparta!!!!!!!! (Kicks kh, ivan, colin into the never ending hole..lolz)

Wahhh..... cannot tahan man...doing the silly genetics paper analysis....which i have to do all 0n my own....unlike ivan tham who finished coz he has senior's report....stupid big bird #^%#.... my brain is so gooey now...i'm melting...melting i tell u.... Anyway..I will try to blog about 300...i hope this time...my com doen't 'heng kei'...crappy com...so now ..i probably save my bloggings in MS word first...hahaha

300 is a bloody awesome movie man...literally bloody...full of gore...From the start of the movie..u can see blood being spilled out in gallons, limbs being cut off, a head rotating 360' (like some Nike Air advertisement).. Basically this movie is about the resilience of the 300 spartan men against tens of thousands of persians who are trying to invade Sparta..Oh yeah..chloe told me, jj and felix that she loved spartan men.....esp. their greasy, sweaty, oily well-tanned 6-packed bodies...it explains her msn nickname now....'-tinychloe- The most wonderful feeling was waking up beside u, spartan'.. ( I have a feeling that Chloe is so gonna kill me when i see her in lab on Monday...lolz)

As i was saying.. the leader of Sparta, Kign Leonidas was against the idea of Persia taking over Sparta...even though the Xerxes, king of Persia offered Leonidas to be ruler of the entire persian army....BTW, king Xerxes really redefined the word kinky... He pierced his whole body, only wears golden underwear...and is so freaking gay....esp. the part where he tried to negotiate with leonidas...he just placed both his hands on leonidas...like he got some arousal...eishhhhhh..creepy

As we all know...both sides went into war...and the spartans...oh boy....they fought so stylo man..so 'chun' man. The fighting was like LOTR and matrix combined...I havent' seen any ancient fight scene like that....Imagine...the spartans were so good...that they defeated the entire foot-soldiers, horse calvary, so-called 'immortals' who i think are failed ninja warriors since they are so laupek, a clumsy rhino and elephants and one hyper-testosterone giant that mati katak so easily... Even the queen of sparta also very fierce..had affair with one man..then killed him...scary man... I think the spartans had a harder time removing away all those dead persians rather than killing them..
U called me WHAT???? U can call me flabby, porky, chubby or whatever....but don't EVER call me FAT!!! For this is SPARTA!!! (kicks poor black dude down the never-ending smelly hole)

Spartans doing what they do best....fighting to the very end....HOOM!!!! (Spartan battle cry)

WAH LAU WEH!!! Faster finish shooting those arrows lah!!! My bladder want to BURST already!!! Boi tahan liao!!!
Leonidas to Xerxes: Oi...massage lower...lower.....u tall black freako!!
Xerxes to Leonidas: U mean here?? (Almost touching Leonidas's posterior)
Leonidas to Xerxes: Yes!!! Thats what i am talking about!!!
YEAH!OHH, YEAH! BABY, YEAH!!!

Anyway...go watch the show to see the ending for urself...It maybe too bloody for some but undoubtly u'll find urself highly motivated after the show..Heck..i felt tired before the show..but after i watched it..i feel very energetic...Adrenaline levels pumping out to the max..King Leonidas just knows how to motivate his men...saying things like Spartans!!! Help me wash my dirty undies....Spartans!!! Let's go pang sai now...Spartans!!! Let's dine char kuey tiaw now..for tonight we dine in hell!!! I will always remember him when i play dota...since i am a feeder and a noob...Whenever i get pawned...i will msge to my team mates and say that i died for the sake of the team...So now...its all up to u all to push the middle lane...and end this game in victory!!!! MUAHAHAHA!!

We're back! Muahaha!

Wow.... what a day that has been....Just watched 300 just now... it totally blown my mind away..freakin superb movie..but more on that later.... Sorry for the delay in blogging... I couldn't find anything interesting to blog... Life hasn't been as interesting as it used to in campus.. It's currently more of mugging, reports and assignments.. Yucks...Today was just the same..going to class early (10 am) and ending late (7pm) sigh.....

There was also genetics lab...which we were supossed to view an expression of some gene (lac Z) i think.. Basically, me, Colin and Ivan didn't do much work...it was Chloe aka 'Che Che' & Hui Ru who did most of it...Thanks girls for doing >90% of the work....Since there was a long incubation time...we decided to take photos
Group pic: Sitting from left (parents) : Chloe and Felix
Standing from left (children) : Colin, Ivan, Kh, me
Ivan laughing to himself after sharing some dirty joke

Chloe; being drunk after inhaling to much X-gal solution, 50% bleach and PBT solution

Felix; typical of someone who plays dota until 5 am... It is a daily affair...He sleeps in at least one class..

Bottle containing the embryo of hunchback, not 'brokeback' fruitfly that we are supposed to collect...yucks

Anyway... after lab there was Bioactive Chem lec that finished until. 7...they should stop having classes this late...I was so hungry...Then we went to pyramid to eat...where after much discussion we all went to McD's...yeah..in the discussion we only had KFC and McD's to choose...so it wasn't too difficult...But it was after dinner that we were all looking forwards too...Watching 300.. the epic fantasy of all alpha males..if u're a guy and u don't like it...u're a sissy boy...GO...Run to mummy!!!! MUAHAHAHA

Shit...i posted something about 300 but then my com hanged and then all my bloggings bout 300 just dissapeared...eishhhh....Will post them next time....

DOTA + YUI

It's almost 1am and i'm still waiting to connect into Blueserver...speaking about DOTA; i just did something unthinkable amid the skirmishes which merely hastened the demise of my hero but its way too embarrassing to be revealed so that's all you should know LOL.

While waiting for normal operations of the server to resume, i decided to browse through some of YUI's music videos. I don't understand the japanese language but i absolutely like what i hear LOL. She kinda reminds me of Avril Lavigne and Lene Marlin though..

First Week Of the Final Semester

As I walked out of the lab management lecture at 4 00p.m, it marks the end of my first week classes for this final semester. Semester by semester, the timetable is getting better and better. Since in the past I usually took four subjects with lab, I felt extra free this semester mainly as there is only two labs which is GEN3030 and bioactive .The elective which I had chosen for this semester was lab management and marketing theory and practice. The former subject is not as it seems and it does not require us to attend any practical classes whereas for the latter subject, I will elaborate more on it in the later part. Throughout my 3 years in Monash, this semester was the best in term of the amount of days I need to be in the Uni and there is no more 8 am classes. Hell yeah, my classes was only Mon-Thurs with only one class allocated on Thurs.

Alright, after cracking my head throughout my summer holiday, I finally decided to take marketing as my elective out of desperation. The initial choice for my elective was actually microeconomics but I ended up taking marketing as I does not like the timetable allocated for the microeconomics. And here I go taking marketing this semester with the hope of getting previous assignment, notes and tutorial exercise from the rest of the homies since they already took it in the 2005 summer. The marketing tutorial which I attended today was the first tutorial for this semester since the tutorial for remaining subjects will only begin in the second week. As blur as usual, I did not know that there would be tutorial for marketing in the first week as tutorial usually begins on the second week for science subjects. My initial allocation was on Tues 2-3 and god knows where I loiter around with the fellow homies on that time. Thanks goodness there is 9 tutorials allocated for that subject and so I decided to attend the tutorial on Wed 2-3. But once again, I ‘accidentally’ skipped the tutorial on Wednesday as me and the fellow homies went to ss15 after lecture at 1pm to do something which we promise we would not do. What’s the promise we made? Yeah you guess it rite, we promise not to DOTA anymore since last semester. It turns to be fiasco isn’t it?

Due to my repeated mistakes, I told myself that I would definitely attend the tutorial classes either on Thurs 11-12 or 12-1. As I woke up around 9 45 a.m on Thursday morning, I can feel the motivation within me to attend the 11am tutorial. As I was getting ready to leave my house, I realized that I had left my com on overnight to download the movie ‘Night in the museum’ and it was completely downloaded at that time. So what did I do? Yeah u guess it rite. I sat on the chair in front of my com and I enjoyed watching the movie till around 11 15a.m. At that particular time , I told myself ‘DIE DIE ALSO MUZ GO TUTORIAL ‘.Hence, with my strong will to go for tutorial, I immediately shuts down my computer and headed to uni where I reached at about 11 50a.m. Yeah, im finally in time to attend the tutorial and im really proud of myself for being able to attend the tutorial with my strong will.

As I enter the tutorial room, there was only two students with one busy reading while the other busy listening to songs. Puzzled whether Im in the wrong class, I took up the courage to ask them if im in marketing tutorial. Yes, was the answer and at that particular moment, I said to myself ‘Yes Ivan, u finally made it to the marketing tutorial’. As the tutorial begins, there are only 12 students included myself. Wow, what a small tutorial classes. Im not use to it as the tutorial classes for the science subject would usually had around 20-30 students. Putting that aside, I get really shocked when im told in the tutorial that I would actually required to present my tutorial answer in front of the classes in a PowerPoint form. Previously, kh told me that we would juz need to do one tutorial and read out the answer to the class and that’s it, full stop. Not only we need to present one particular tutorial in front of the class, but we are also required to hand in 2 pages long tutorial answer every week. Oh man, u guys wont know how disappointed I am at that period of time. However, it was still better than taking elective with practical classes and struggling with additional lab report every week rite? To make matter worst, im taking this particular subject alone and so, there would be no one for me to discuss the tutorial question or even the presentation slide with,. The tutorial finally ended and in being disappointed, I went to the computer lab and simply surfing the net and save up all the marketing stuff. After two hours doing nutz in the com lab, I get my ass off the seat and headed towards the lab management lecture. There, I met Hui ru and who know, she told me that she took marketing last summer and the tutorial question was exactly the same as hers. So what evil thinking do u think I have in mind? Yeah, I asked her for her marketing stuff and she said she will pass the soft and hard copy to me provided I bought her 3 types of chocolate. I was so happy on that period of time as there was still hope for me to surivive in marketing class. To tell the truth, science subject was all about memorizing but as far as the first lecture are concern, I don’t think pure memorizing would allow me to do any good in this marketing subject. I’m somehow still worried on how im gonna survive in this marketing classes. Alrite there are more to write but if I gonna write all u guyz will get bored reading all my craps. Ok till nxt time.(Actually gonna play game with frens dats y lazy to continue blog hehe )

1/03/07, A DAY TO REMEMBER

After looking at the length of Kh's blog, I decided that I must start blogging before Kh overtakes this blog LOL. Hmm today just like any other day,i had the privilege of not having class for the whole day unlike the rest of my homies which needed to attend classes for marketing and lab management. Well for the entire day, I just sat at home n watched tv all day long and after a while i decided to wash my car instead.

Let me tell u, I was pratically struggling to wash my car maybe because i did not exercise for a long period of time but after a few rounds of tug-of-war with my muscles and summoning every ounce of energy inside my body to finish washing the car.I finally finished the task, and then i slowly manoveured my car out of the car porch and parked outside.I parked outside due to the sole reason that the my 54 year old housemate did not allow me to park inside because he said the parking space is his territory.Anyways, when I parked my squeaky clean car just right in front of my house the worst thing happened.

At first, I could hear thunder and then it was all clear IT STARTED RAINING! I was on my knees shouting to the skies, WHY? WHY? No la, I did not do that! The thing that i did was that I rushed into my house n started to ponder,'Why everytime when I wash my car,it will always rain? At that time, it was around 2.20pm I think. Anyways I proceeded to the bath room n took a bath after the much challenging car wash.

After finishing my bath, I went out for lunch and to my dismay all the shops near to my house where i usually have my lunch were closed. Oh man, with an empty stomach I came back home and decided to read some of the GEN3030 notes because of peer pressure from the rest of my homies but to tell u guys the truth, it only lasted a few minutes haha. Then I recalled that I have a wedding dinner to attend this Sunday night,I got excited because this was the first time that a soon to marry couple actually invited me to go with my name on the invitation card coz last time it was always with my parents. That means only my parents name will be on the invitation card for an example: Mr Henry Ong and family, so basically I am under the family category.

So with all the enthusiasm, I tried on my shirt and with my coat that I will be wearing this Sunday and when I tried on my pants. Gosh! It could not fit anymore, I had to suck in so much air just to get the zipper to close up. Conclusion = I put on weight during CNY season. I was very sad at that time but i told myself I gotta at least lose some weight during these few days though it sounds awfully impossible and ridiculous but still I must do it coz it wouldnt be nice for me to buy another pair of pants because the coat were tailor-made and the new pants might not match the colour of the coat. But i do have a back up plan if i couldnt fit in the pants, I decided that I would just struggle through the whole wedding ceremony. The thing that I am most concerned is that will the button of my pants give way when I start filling my stomach with food, that would be a very terrible thing to happen in a wedding ceremony isnt it? Imagine the button suddenly shooting off and hitting right on the bridegroom's head, Gosh! this is gonna be bad. If u guys have any ideas to solve this thing, pls write in under this topic's comment. Any ideas are much appreciated

So basically, that's what I did today. It was rather a funny and weird day I would say. During evening, played Dota with Ivan Tham and Diensong. The same things happened, it was a laggy game and Ivan kept saying that I was a noob despite of him farming neutral creeps in the jungle of Timbaktu. Girls it is ok if you do not understand this haha.Well Diensong, he is just the typical guy with a high erupting hormone to kill he would not care whether he will be dead as long as he is able to kill the opponent. But overall, it was a very fun-filled and funny game. Till next time guys, will keep you updated! I gotta go n study bioactive, sci2010 and gen3030 now, Can you feel the pressure haha?

First Day of Last Semester in Monash

I don't know why i'm doing this again. Maybe i'm infatuated with the novelty of blogging. Hopefully i won't be doing this anymore when all the lab reports and assignments start avalanching on us.

I'm enrolled in 3 subjects this semester instead of the usual 4 since i did a subject last summer. Speaking about that summer, thing went horribly wrong for me. My summer somewhat culminated with my assignment being graded a Pass, coupled with a complementary remark which goes like this: NOT GOOD. NOT MONASH MATERIAL. Anyway that's not the point of this post LOL. Because of my relatively light schedule this semester, Ivan kept telling me, ' eh shit u, so unfair la we all take 4 subs but u takin 3 only, eh u since u so free u must help us do lab report u know haha!' And he just mentioned those lines again not so long ago today and will most probably repeat those words every now and then. Ivan oh Ivan i'll see what i can do la hahahaha

Today my first lecture was at 12pm but i had a lunch appointment at 11am with sam, ivan and colin in Medan (a food court). As usual since these bargles for no reason warned me not to be late the night before, the next day i purposely dilly dallied before i started my journey from home. But i gave myself an allowance of 35 minutes though. In the middle of my journey, i phoned sam to ask his whereabout but he replied to me in a somewhat sad tone, ' eh u dunno meh colin was hospitalised in Sunway Hospital yesterday due to dengue fever?' Immediately fear gripped me for i have read on the newspaper about countless lives succumbing to this horrible thing. Tears trickled down my face as i feared the worst for him. If he were to go just like that, then there would be nobody to make us laugh in the future. Thus i stamped on the gas pedal and immediately my Iswara sped like a Maserati but there was this silly driver in a Juara (also known as the Coffin Car) who refused to give way although my car came mighty close to kissing his rear bumper but yet he was determined not to give way. Then i realised something; i was on the slow lane all this while -_-'''. Thus i veered to the right and sped off. When i reached the hospital, i asked the receptionist, ' er sini ada pesakit yang nama Colin Ong ?' She looked blankly at me: 'itu laki-laki atau pompuan?' -_- After checking the patient list for the second time, she confirmed that no such person, guy or girl, was admitted to the hospital. Puzzled, i continued my journey to Medan. By then, Ivan and Sam were already there and there was someone else with them and he looked a lot like.. Colin. Damn, i have been had. That bargle laughed cheekily at me: ' Happy New Year dude!' and Sam was chuckling. 'Nevermind, nevermind, first day,' i told myself. -_-

The first lecture was to be taught by a sleepy looking lecturer whose lecture can really make one go slumberland. Even before he entered the classroom, i was already yawning non stop. The second and last lecture was not any different. I have been taught by him for the past semesters but i must say that i still can't fathom his accent till this day. After lecture ended, we decided to go SS15 for a DOTA session which hopefully won't become a practice this semester since it can be darn addictive and worst of all, it burns a hole in my wallet. Colin said he had some stuff to attend to and would join us later. So we played with the 6.38bAI+ bots while waiting for him but that bargle took so long. Finally he arrived but his attire was different from the one he wore just now. Damn, that bargle actually went home, took a nap and changed before he came while we waited and waited LOL.

Since the AI bots were somewhat tough to play with, we decided it was us 4 against 5 insane bots. Wrong move. Even with Ivan and Colin (they are awesome i tell you, if u want to challenge them in blueserver, look for 'coehan' and 'ivanoz') on our side, we just got massacred right from the start and I thought i stayed in the fountain of health more than i fought in any lane. Some things don't change: born feeders will remain as one for as long they live ( in my case LOL)

So we decided to play Need for Speed Most Wanted and the outcome was similar for me: i crashed into all sorts of barrier in the track; tiang lampu, tiang elektrik, metal fence, plastic fence, electronic billboard, pondok telefon, etc. You name it, i crashed onto it.

We went home in the evening and here i am in front of my PC, relating to you what just happened today.

Till next time.

Reminiscence of a wonderful 3 months

Time i contributed to this blog LOL apa lah so far u guys merely mentioned about ourselves, better don't indulge in that lest people misconstrue that we are madly in love with ourselves. I’m writing about the recently concluded industrial training. We (Sam, Ivan and I. Colin went MIA as he was enrolled in summer course) underwent the training in Sime Darby Technology Centre (SDTC) since we pretty much had nothing to do during the summer and not doing anything productive for a good 3 months is as good as subjecting oneself to mental torture IMO. Normally, the impression one conceives of upon hearing 'Sime Darby' is that of WOAAAA, HEBAT BETUL, HOU GENG AR, and stuff like that, however......

On the very first day of work, Sam and I decided to carpool since i didn't know how to get there and when i suggested to him about this, if i wasn't mistaken, his first statement was, 'You better don't be late to pick me 'coz Old Klang Road (OKR) is notorious for heavy traffic you know!' LOL. For those-who-don't-know, somehow these 3 bargles (sam, colin and ivan) keep insisting i'm Mr-Forever-Late but i don't mind 'coz they 'memang suka syok sendiri' hahaha no offence yea guys. So thanks to Sam's reminder and my not wanting to be late, we arrived at SDTC so early that the ticket seller was still sleeping soundly, damn LOL. But as usual, Ivan arrived way earlier although his house was so much nearer to the workplace...so typical of Ivan also known as Mr-I'm-Prepared-For-All-Possibilities LOL. Besides us, there were 3 more Monash students who applied for SDTC too namely Suzan (not Susan), Su Ee (not Su Eeeek) and Alexander (NO, not Alexandre the Great). Alex arrived one week later as he applied later than all of us. Also, there was another trainee (Evylyne) who joined us and she hails from Ottago University. Hey Evylyne in case you are reading this you must pardon me ‘coz my first impression of Ottago was that of some god-knows-tribe from some god-forsaken-place who set up their own education institute for the sake of keeping up with time. Blame my geographical incompetency LOL.

Alex, Suzan and I were placed in the same lab, Ivan and Su Ee into another lab while Sam was the lone ranger in yet another lab but all 3 labs were connected and highly accessible by foot. Prior to our arrival, there were other trainees from UCSI and UTAR, all of whom are majoring in either biotechnology or chemistry. Basically, trainees run the labs whereby we do almost A to Z from preparing reagents, buffers, agar, running assays to washing apparatus. Heck I can vividly recall the first few weeks where Muthu, Wan Yee and I had to hand wash almost 320 test tubes where we had to scrub the inside of each tube every single working day…by now I ought to have qualified for the highest status of houseman-ship (nothing to do with the medicine field), damn LOL. Having said that, I must stress that I didn’t mind at all because the lab to which I was assigned only had 2 guys (Muthu and I) while the rest are..you guessed it LOL but that isn’t the real reason just kidding. Speaking bout Muthu and Wan Yee, both of whom were my project partners, Muthu hails from UCSI while Wan Yee is from UTAR. Both had been absolutely fantastic to me; Muthu taught me from A to Z and also kept patiently reminding me lest I make mistakes (which I actually did every single day without fail LOL) and Wan Yee had been a motherly figure to me with her highly sarcastic remarks whenever I make mistakes but yet I felt comfortable talking to her each time, the irony. However, she had been patient with me also while constantly guiding me all the time. Crap, this could only spell disaster; thanks to their generosity which spoilt me, I took their reminders for granted and never bothered to learn from my mistakes but hey I still washed those test tubes ma LOL. Some of you might be seeing stars by now so I better introduce the bunch of Utarians and Ucsians before I go on.

UCSIans from left to right: Lee Tin, Zhen Qin, Muthu, Tian Tian, Melissa, Cammie, Yuan Ni & Yik Lim and Alicia.

UTARians from left to right: Chee Lay, Chia Yen, Kar Chu, Aaron & Sook Theng, Li Ern, May Juin and Wan Yee.

MONASHians from left to right: Suzan, Sam, Su Ee, Ivan, me and Alex

Picture this: u rise at 650am, leave house at 700am, endure the jam outside your house + jam at Jalan Puchong + jam at OKR for a good one and a half hours (maybe that explains why I always arrived late for work), work till 530pm (but I was almost always destined for OT), then go home and endure jam at LDP for at most 15 to 20 minutes. Yup, this pretty much sums up my weekdays and thus explains why I initially loathed the training. But all that would change once I got to know these fellow trainees better.

UCSIans
Lee Tin
: Pretty quiet. Does her work meticulously to the extent I initially mistook her as permanent staff of SDTC haha. Polite too. And i’m glad to know that she’s from Johor too, erm Kulai if I ain’t mistaken
Zhen Qin: Rather eccentric and by that I don’t mean you but the work you were assigned to (she can sit still and keep staring at the laptop for hours while resisting the temptation to join her fellow labmates who gossip most of the time haha. But heck she gets crazy with her funny antics at times
Muthu: Aaah, my project partner, also my ‘dad in law’. A walking loudspeaker with highly infectious antics and you definitely livened up the workplace. Your presence transformed SDTC into my second home for as long you were there LOL. Pst: I just discovered the antennae you fixed for me only receives Al Jazeera wavelength lah, and that explains why we almost always never understood each other haha
Tian Tian: Initially I figured her Tian Tian in mandarin means ‘everyday’ so that’s what I called her. Heck no, Tian Tian basically means ‘Sweet or Manis’, and that characterizes her personality too. She indirectly kept me covered as she always prepared sterile-sterile pipette tips, which I used a lot LOL
Melissa: If Zhen Qin is crazy then she is hopelessly mad. Nola joking nia haha. Bubbly personality and came up with the idea of pooling everybody’s friendster and MSN addresses. Good one LOL
Cammie: This girl…haih…this girl…haih. Haha. I took the longest to start speak to her. Maybe she is painfully shy with guys but that’s only a hypothesis haha. Throughout my time there, her vocabulary to me consisted of only 3 cantonese words- CHI SIN, PAT KONG and SEI LA LEI. But I enjoyed talking to you and once I knew you I had the tendency to ‘kacau’ you just to hear you say those 3 canto words hahahaha. And I must admit your presence in our lab certainly spiced things up LOL
Yuan Ni and Yik Lim: One’s a girl. Another’s a boy (Like duh haha). Yuan Ni has lots of thoughtful opinions to spare when it comes to love matters while Yik Lim has awesome opinions when it comes to sex issues (he could be seen watching South Park on laptop during working hours haha). No offence lah and I must say both of you certainly displayed maturity beyond your years
Alicia: HAHAHA. The very first person I would look for to bully whenever I step into the lab. You can hit, whack or swat her but none of these would anger her and she would complain to Yik Lim (supposedly her father) but Yik Lim would just encourage me to bully her more hahaha so farney. Possesses a model’s built and definitely reminded me of one of Charlie’s angels.
Surain: Hmm I can’t say much for I spoke the least to you but from what I observed, he always came to my lab to speak to Yuan Ni…must be matters concerning the heart LOL. A romeo in the making. Maybe you already are

UTARians
Chee Lay
: Sometimes she eats slower than I, sometimes it’s the other way round. Truly glad to have met someone who has an identical chewing rate as I. Smooth and fluent when it comes to talking and wears a smile all the time
Chia Yen: Snow White. So white u could never differentiate her from a piece of new A4 paper. Paper gets burnt easily though and I guess that’s why she carries an umbrella all the time haha. Serious when at work but can be farney whenever I speak to her haha
Aaron: Another shy guy. I think he is painfully shy with guys too hahaha. But usually ‘shy guys possess knowledge in abundance’ and he is a paragon of this statement. Helped me and Wan Yee a lot with dilution factors hahaha
Sook Theng: Another nice gal. Somewhat different from the Utarians I know as she speaks English and no mandarin. A shame I did not interact enough with you to be able to tag you with absurd descriptions hahaha
Li Ern: Think sunshine. Think Li Ern. That’s the impression I got whenever I spoke to her. Kinda reminds me of Yuan Ni with her wisdom but also has a bubbly personality; when the bubble ‘pops’, it brings warmth into the lab (erm not increasing the lab’s temperature, just a metaphor)
May Juin: Exudes a sophisticated and confident exterior and has the natural talent of making high-class criticism tinged with sarcasm hahaha. If Muthu is Luther Vandross then she must be Diana Ross
Wan Yee: What can I say more? You had been so great to me; constantly putting me on the receiving end of your highly sarcastic remarks but yet I enjoyed talking to you. You almost don’t sense the slightest hypocrisy when interacting with her, she just speaks her mind out and oh yeah, she is my ‘grandmother’ and that’s why she always kept me in check, lest I said ‘CRAP’ in the middle of an assay; only she will understand that LOL.

Ottagons? Ottagians? Ottains? Haiya Otak-Otak will do lah
Evylyne: Ahaha it’s a surprise that we both know Yea Lee. The world is definitely getting smaller, if not rounder. You have been helpful to me, teaching me how to use, clean and turn off the centrifuge machine. Thus think centrifuge, think Evylyne. Joking. It’s a shame I wasn’t there to see you off in KLIA, my bad, no excuses. Anyway good to know you. And I still think that keychain is not a keychain lah, like some spying device LOL

Su Ee: Smart. Hardworking. Performs her job earnestly. Speaks little though and seldom joins in group gossips but somewhat different from her peers in her batch (and I mean it in a good way hahaha)
Alex: Another quiet guy. Helped me a lot when I initially call him ‘lengzai’ but he wisened up to my tactic that it did not work on him after a few weeks. Beneath this shy exterior lurks a joker who speaks (when he does speak on few occasions) meaningful stuff and has the ability to ‘tembak’ you when u least expect it. Dude, speak more and see you in campus!
Suzan: My hypothetical daughter. Also extremely helpful and pleasant. Performs her job with unwavering dedication. Salute. Its always good to know I can have an exemplary daughter (whom I didn’t know until recently) without going through the hard way of parenting
Samuel and Ivan: Awww dudes, what can I say more? Friends for more than 2 years and I’m glad we went through this training together. Really good to have you guys around for your presence enriched my experience both in Monash and SDTC!

Note: There are other trainees from various institutions and some relatively new trainees from UCSI whom I got to know for around a month or so before we left but readers would go to slumberland if I were to mention each and everyone of them, so sorry lah to those I have to miss out (Jo Leen, Yae Sze, Jane, Vino, Sashita, Reisa etc.).

All in all, this industrial training had provided me a wonderful experience which would definitely linger in my mind for a long time. Best of all, I got reacquainted with camaraderie (last experienced in college days) and learnt how it should actually be especially in our current society; no hypocrisy, backstabbing and other awful stuff one can ever conjure, but just enjoying each other’s company and stuff like that.

This industrial training experience had been fantastic simply because of my time with you guys!

-Cheers-

Memories Of The Past

Well, its Friday evening and as usual im sitting in front of my com basically juz staring and wondering what to do. I finally decided to spare some time to blog here and keep in mind that I had never blog b4 and dis is my first time doing it haha. Sam and kh I will try my very best to avoid as much typo as I can dun worry haha. Needless to say, the final semester of our degree is juz 4 months away. Time flies huh? With a blink of an eye, we already knew each other 2 and a half year. During this period of time, I have lots of great memories with you guyz which will remain within me. Without further ado, let me flashback on the very first time I met u guyz.

Colin, the first time I met u was during BIO1011 lab and I bet u still remember how arrogant u look that time haha. I sat next to you for around 15 minutes and talked to you and you did not even tell me your name. It’s Steven which finally introduce your name to me haha. Frankly speaking, I can fell the changes within me after knowing you. As you can see, last time im kind of a ‘katak di bawah tempurung’. I bet you still can remember that you told me that you teach me to hang out more and I teach you to be more nerd haha. Anyway . im not nerd ok? I seriously admit that before my uni life, I stay at home almost 24/7 doing nth. After knowing u guyz, I went out more often and get to know more about the outside world. Needless to say, my sense of direction still remain the same and mayb its because its born within me. Cant change much eh?

Sam, knew you outside the lecture hall. Till today, you and kh remain the same. What I meant here was that wherever you go, kh will surely follows you, Perhaps you two had an agreement with some superglue company or whatsoever? Oh yeah, I will surely remember that you told me im very shy and quiet initially but once u know me in the chem lab, I talk non stop like my mulut very big rite haha. Sam, u need to und, dat time I dunno lots of thing and u and kh came upon me as mr know it all .Deep within me I was like ‘Wow, dis 2 guy really know everything!’. From then onward, I keep asking you question and that’s y u think I talk a lot eh? .

Kh, dun worry. After asking you for ur name about 5times on the first day we met I finally get ur name right. As mentioned by colin, I will always remember ur cold jokes although sometime I dun und what u trying to say haha. Oh yeah, its okie to go out once in a while even if sam does not follow u know? I still remember whenever we ask u go somewhere last time, the first question u will ask is ‘ Sam going? ‘ . I think that’s what make us think of the superglue thing haha.

Time flies and its great knowing you guyz. My uni life will never be the same without the presence of u guyz . I know, after our final semester, we will hav less chances to meet each other anymore. Each of us will hav our own path . Colin and sam, you two might be meteing each other since both of u will be taking double degree, while for kh, perhaps u gonna work here or kluang? As for me myself, there is a high probability that I would go to sg and work as my bro keep persuade me to work there haha. However, the memories of our friendship will remain as we had crossed path in our very own complicated life. Till then, keep in touch and friends forever.

The History Of The 4 Homies

Well well well, what can i say Sam, u did came up with a pretty good idea to catch up on what we are doing. I will try my best to update u guys with what is going on around me if i got the ATP lol. Hmm, let us start on the 1st day i knew u guys i must say that when i 1st know u guys i thought u guys were a bunch of typical kiasu nerdos but i was wrong man u guys can play dota as well though Sam will always shout SHIT! when he is murdered by Ivan. Ivan pls show some mercy man, Sam is a noob. Sam is a typical Papa's boy i would say, whatever your dad say u will do it LOL but its good man i m proud of u. As for Ivan, no comment. Kh on the other hand, dude i don know man still remember the time when u were in the car with us and u asked us to keep quiet so u can tell a lie to your dad LOL. Oh man, ask for forgiveness from your dad since its CNY now. Ivan all the while u have been a hardworking dude but u know nothing besides studying and DOTA, dude u gotta move on man learn more LOL or else next time when your children ask u DAD, What Is Sex? How are u going to answer them? Don tell me u are going to tell them that its when one worm meets one ball man. Hmm 3 years had passed and all the happy memories that we been through together, i must say that it was fun knowing u bunch of wonkers. Kh still remember the time in agri when Ivan was so frustrated that his group did not turn up to count the height and weight of his precious CORN, and it turned out to be a funny scenario rather than a serious one haha. And Sam still remember the time when u crossed the road with your 2 tonned bag, i thought u could not make it through man haha and Kh, wat can i say man u are always there with your lame jokes haha but it was fun having u around. All of u guys are good frens man, if i am not sure bout my studies i can always rest assured that i can ask u guys bout it. All the 3 years have been great. I am sorry that for the past 3 months, i was not able to hang out with u guys. I was busy with my church drama production but lets get go yam cha when we get back from our CNY holidays. Just wanna wish all of u guys a happy CNY and a happy new year, God bless and have fun! Take care all my brothers! ADIOS!

Preview of things to come...

Time and tide waits for no man....With a blink of an eye, we're already in the final semester of our course....3 years have passed by so quickly..and i could still remember the first day of uni clearly..So many events took place since then....good ones and bad ones....but it is mainly the good ones that we will cherish the most....where we will keep it in the deepest and dearest part of our heart..

Hence, that is the reason why this blog was set up....Basically, it will be a collection of experiences during this semester that will be contributed by Ivan, Kian Huei, Colin (that is if he has enough ATP to blog since he is a lazy pig) and myself. Hopefully, this blog will be updated frequently and we will try to put in the activities that we have done so far... Oh yes, your comments are extremely welcomed no matter how offensive they might sound...

Well... I think i wrote enough rubbish for a preview.... So on behalf of the other bloggers, we hope to see that this blog will truly reflect the events that is to come.... Enjoy...
